CASAs don’t need special degree or legal backgrounds; they must simply care about children and bring good common sense.

Step one of becoming a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) is attending a 45-minute General Information Session—please join us! See dates and locations here.

Volunteer CASAs are committed, caring adults who stand for the child until his or her case is closed (average 18 months). In collaboration with others in the child’s life, CASAs are instrumental in facilitating access to the material, educational and health services necessary for each child to flourish.

We will train you, and a Juvenile Court Judge will perform your swearing-in, so you’ll be ready to stand beside abused and neglected children in the court system to:

  • Watch over and advocate for their best interests
  • Make sure they don’t get lost in the overburdened legal and social services system
  • Avoid their languishing in inappropriate group or foster homes
