Please Support CASA with a Year-End / Year-Beginning Donation!
Although this has been an extraordinary year for all of us, CASA wants to say THANK YOU for your continued support.
With the onset of COVID-19, no one could have imagined the dramatic changes to which we all would have to adapt. But one thing that hasn’t changed is the difference that CASA volunteers make in the life of a child.
Our program’s approximately 200 CASA Volunteers have seen the pandemic’s impact on 700+ children and families served – the disruption of children’s support networks, suspension of critically important services like visitation with family, therapy and education services. This past fiscal year the demand for CASA appointments increased by 340 new children – there are over 1,000 more children that would benefit from a CASA volunteer. As we think about our responsibilities toward all, not only those near and dear to us, but to those in our community who need a voice – how can we “Change a Child’s Story?”
CASA’s staff and volunteers have been able to pivot and serve children and families in a different way. We continue to recruit, provide online training and hold virtual swearing-in ceremonies for new volunteers. Staff and volunteers are providing socially distant advocacy, using technology and “visiting” from the safety of the sidewalk. By being the caring, consistent adult, these volunteers have been the certainty in uncertain times for the children we serve. The determination of our staff and volunteers has truly inspired us, and I hope it inspires you.
COVID-19 had an impact on CASA’s ability to fundraise this year. To help CASA respond and adjust to the financial impacts of this pandemic on our mission, please consider a year-end gift in building the future for our CASA children.
Next year holds the promise of endless possibilities for all of us. We are hopeful for a brighter year and a return to routine – one that includes being connected with our friends and loved ones again. Our volunteers are resilient, tenacious, and committed to supporting the lives of children we serve. Regardless of what next year brings, I know that with your help, our staff and volunteers will be equipped to meet the challenges.
Fondly,
Pamela Perrilles, Executive Director
